"Art" #2, 1998

The next issue of the "Art" journal begins with a section named "The heritage of St. Stephan and the modern orthodox religion". A reader will be surely interested by the interview given by the well-known theologian, deacon A. Kurajev, to journalist A. Petrenko. The interview is devoted to the problem of interactions between the church and the state. The St. Stephan section is presented by the classical article of D. Nesanelis " St. Stephan Permsky in the Russian historiography". In the section of literature, a reader will find the poetic works of N. Shebyrev and the philosophical lyrics of clam Hungarian poet Istvan Bak. A. Luzhikov's novel "Izmom Sinva" - 'Tears turned into stone' somehow is a new stage in the prosaic work of this well-known Komi poet. Furthermore, it is obviously the first prosaic work made in Komi language according to the traditions of modernistic literature. This issue also includes the first part of J. Ekishev's novel "With peace as You said, with love as Your law demands". The publication of this novel will be continued in following issues of the journal. The "Komi studies" section includes the article of Finnish scientist Raja Bartens. This article is devoted to the sacral searches of I. Kuratov. The article of P. Limerov focuses on a very poorly researched topic of the folk demonology, the problem of emerging and developing of the folk images of demons. In the "Art-fact" section, attention of a reader will be attracted by N. Plakshina's article "Resurrection from the death". This is the first publication describing the process of restoration of the Icons. Besides that in this section, V. Morozova develops his ideas about the ratio of successes and fails in festive plays (the "Festive experiences" article) and A. Kotylev accurately analyses the staging of L. Terentjev's play made by the Syktyvkar theater of drama
