"Art" #3, 1999

The third number of the magazine starts with continuation of publishing the translation of the big work of P.A. Sorokin "A man and a society in calamity". Literature part of the magazine is presented by a new author, writing in the Komi language - Semen Terentiev, with an epic poem "Lemvanyrd". New verses of G. Butyreva in a head "December dreams" give us piercing feeling of uniqueness of every tiny piece of the being, every flash of life, that disappear and never come back. Interview with a well-known Komi writer A.E. Vaneev in which he presents his thoughts on literature, poetry, and the mission of a poet will be interesting for a reader.

The Shtudii section starts with an article of N.A. Korovina "The Russian bast literature and the Komi fairy-tales" where the author tells about effect of the bast literature on the fairy-tale tradition of Komi. An article of the well-known student of folklore and the art critic A.F. Nekrylova "The Russian battle-piece bast" is devoted to the almost unexplored and unknown to the general public sphere of a bust woodcut - battle-piece cheap popular prints. In the "Ethnoarchive" section a reader will get acquaintance with an article of the Komi ethnographer V.P. Nalimov "Dress, adornment and their origin", devoted to semantics of dress. Indubitable interest of an audience will arouse a publication of the correspondence between D.A. Nesanelis and V.V. Nalimov, an outstanding scientist, a professor of Moscow university the son of V.P. Nalimov.

In the "Art-fact" section theatre critic A. Klein (an article called "The first national") presents his opinion on the first (and the last one?) national ballet "Jag mort". Also in the section there are works of an artist V.P. Kononov and his article called "About art problems". The polemics, in regards to a book of V. Sumarokov "Agar", between well-known literary men L. Terentieva and I. Vavilov will be interesting for readers.
