"Art" #2, 2001

The second issue of magazine "Art" opens with the section devoted to the anniversary of the Republic. The magazine proposes to the readers' attention the interview of the Head of the Republic Spiridonov Y.A. and the article of N.Nesterova and A.Popov "The national question in the Republic of Komi" as the materials of anniversary themes, in which the authors earnestly describe complicated processes of national policy within the last 80 years. In the literature section there is a new name. This is Elena Astafyeva with the selection of poem "Menam loley korcye ordymyas" (My soul looks for path). The poems are distinguished by some Oriental coloring, that particular courtliness and delicacy in estimation of parallels between motion of natural phenomenon and spiritual self analysis, which is more typical for Japanese short verses. Where is Japanese sadness in Zyryan woman from? Let's leave this question without answer. In this issue the publication of the novel "Encroachment, which is not happened" by V.Komyshev comes to the end. The reader will at last say good bye to the main hero detective Suhanyev of this criminal novel. In the type of new prose, the readers who know the komi language will be attracted by new stories "Yirkap" and "Yeyuk" (Little fool) by A.Polugrudov. Yirkap is a hero of komi legend, to which the young author tries to give a new interpretation, and in our opinion it is done very successfully. The hero of the second story doesn't carry a pistol in a shoulder holster, he is an ordinary country-man, which reminds the oddities of V.Shukshin heroes, which create the meaning of life in this sinful Earth. In this year the well-known Komi-Permyak prose-writer V.Batalov would be have his 75-th birthday. The article of V.Pahorukova that reveals the main stages of creation is devoted to him. A reader is proposed a selection of his short stories, which are in fact are not stories, but real poems in prose. T.Dronova presents the creative work of V.Ostashov who passed away too early. These are his pictures, letters and short essay about Pizhma spoon players. Section "Shtudia" in this time is dedicated to people's notion about domestic animals. The reader will learn many new things about such a common animal as cow from the point of view of a town-inhabitant (P.Limerov "Holy animal"), and also about that any cattle-shed, in which is kept a cow in reality is a temple. (I.Vinokurova "Vepps mythological conception about cattle-shed and its inhabitants). The section "Artfact" of the second issue is fundamental. E.Popovtseva in the article "To the history of the first art collections of the Komi land" which tells about the establishment of the National gallery, by what every inhabitant of the Republic could be proud of. The article of I.Kotyleva "... it cold be perished" is about the history of forming of ethnography collections in the National museum of the Republic of Komi. The last section of the magazine will give a pleasure by the detailed survey article "In search of new forms" by L.Izyurova about the processes, which is happening in today's literature.
