"Art" #2, 2002

In the modern literature section of the magazine "ART" the reader will find the verses of a remarkable Komi - permian poet, writer and local lore scientist Vasiliy Klimov, pulished in the Komi - permian and Russian languages. The verses attract the reader by their own ingenuousness and by some ancient mythological outlook. The Komi writer Oleg Ulyashev has kindly provided the magazine with a selection of his new stories. This section also includes a large selection of works of Russian writers entitled "Peredelkino". "Peredelkino" is the name of the country place near Moscow, where such well-known literary men as Boris Pasternak, Anna Akhmatova and others worked and created. The reader can get acquainted with a new novel "Into the Same Earth", written by a famous Russian writer Valentin Rasputin. This is a narration about a woman's fate, which is typical and reflects the fates of many Russian women, the destiny of Russia itself. The verses of a famous free-verse poet Vyacheslav Kupriyanov will certainly strike the reader's imagination by the interplay of images and meanings. Moreover, the magazine presents for the reader's judgement written works of famous Republican writers: Nadezhda Moroshnichenko, Galina Boutyreva, Alexander Suvorov, Tatiana Lombina, Elena Gabova. This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the most significant modern Komi writer Gennadiy Yushkov. The magazine has responded to this event by the literary investigations of this writer's creative work, published in the section "Jubilee". In the section "Art-Fact" the reader will find written works of the Komi - permian artist Peter Subbotin-Permyak - the first-rate representative of Russian artistic avant-guard of the beginning of the century. What's important is that this artist's article about the principles of "New Russian" is published for the first time. This article is interesting not only because it reveals the artist's viewpoint on the theory of Russian avant-guard, but also because it's a purely literary work. One can be convinced that artists also have a gift for literary work, having got acquainted with the works of Olga Bogacheva - a jeweller and essayist.
